Dr. Nora Carleson, Historic New England's Curator of Fashion and Decorative Arts, lectures on Victorian hair jewelry: the earrings, brooches, bracelets and necklaces made of human hair that were once commonplace across the United States. She covers the craft's history in New England, how the pieces were made and why they were popular, and artists who have taken it up again. Afterward participants make their own, with supplies and artificial hair provided.

Gibson House Museum curator Hailey Robbins lectures on Dr. Freeman Allen, Massachusetts General Hospital's first staff anesthetist and husband of Mary Ethel Gibson. A prominent Boston doctor, Allen struggled privately with morphine addiction and spent his last years in and out of mental health facilities, with Ethel as his confidant and support. The lecture carries a content warning for discussion of mental illness, opiate addiction, alcoholism, suicide and grief.
