Teresa Silverman, a member of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Boston, lectures on the history and symbolism of the Ikenobo school of ikebana, Japanese flower arranging, and builds an arrangement in front of the audience as she talks. Ikenobo is the oldest school of the art, tracing its origins to Buddhist priests at the Rokkakudo temple in Kyoto. Registration is required, with 30 places.

Juventas New Music Ensemble presents a social-justice concert and community sing curated by its soprano Kelley Hollis, who performs with pianist Julia Scott Carey. Contemporary works include Anthony R. Green's ...all that is good, Ashi Day's Open Your Mouth, Rosephanye Powell's Songs for the People and Oliver Caplan's The New Colossus; the audience joins in on We Shall Overcome and This Land is Your Land.

Jenn Bouchard, a Massachusetts novelist who writes stories set in New England, talks about her path to publication and “embracing life’s second acts.” Bouchard did not publish her debut novel until she was 44; at 49 she is releasing her third, Palms on the Cape, while still teaching high school social studies full-time and raising a family. She has close to 100 book events behind her.

Max Heinegg, Medford's Poet Laureate for 2025–2027, and friends combine a poetry reading with musical performances of seasonal poems and songs. Heinegg is a poet and songwriter who has also released records; his books include Good Harbor (2022), Going There (2023) and Keepers of the House (2025). Registration opens November 1.
