King's Chapel's midday series brings local and visiting musicians for 30 to 40 minutes of classical, jazz and popular music. The recitals listed here are Steven Young on the chapel's C.B. Fisk organ, Zoe Vandermeer on voice and harp, and violinist Miriam David; organist Giovanni Solinas and guitarist Warren Nicholson follow later in October. Each recital is also streamed, and the suggested $5 donation goes entirely to the musicians.

Heinrich Christensen, King's Chapel's music director since 2000, plays organ music from his native Denmark, from Buxtehude, organist at Helsingør before he settled in Lübeck, through to Carl Nielsen. Christensen trained at the Århus Conservatory and with Olivier Latry at the Conservatoire de Saint-Maur, and won prizes at the organ competitions in Odense and Erfurt. He plays the chapel's C.B. Fisk organ, Opus 44.

The King's Chapel Choir, the chapel's 17-voice professional ensemble, sings settings of the same texts by different composers, sometimes written centuries apart, in a programme that asks “Who wrote it best?” Heinrich Christensen, the Danish-born organist who has been King's Chapel's music director since 2000, conducts. Children aged 8 to 17 are admitted free.

Soloists from the King's Chapel Choir sing music by Carson Cooman, Conte, Robles and others, with Heinrich Christensen, the chapel's music director since 2000, at the organ; Christensen has premiered several of Cooman's works. The instrument is the chapel's C.B. Fisk Opus 44, the first tracker-action organ built by an American firm in the twentieth century. Concerts in the series last about an hour.

A mass, a motet and a cantata mark the birthday of J.S. Bach, sung by the King's Chapel Choir with soloists and orchestra under Heinrich Christensen, the chapel's music director and organist since 2000. Christensen, trained in Denmark and at the Boston Conservatory, has recorded Bach's Clavierübung III. The concert is presented in memory of Jay R. Schochet.
