D. Stephen Long, Cary M. Maguire University Professor of Ethics at Southern Methodist University, gives a Lowell Lecture for Boston University School of Theology asking whether liberalism caused today's democratic crises or failed to prevent them, and whether a postliberal, theopolitical vision is a hope or a danger for people of faith. Long has published twenty books, including Divine Economy: Theology and the Market.

Newsrooms under his leadership won 18 Pulitzer Prizes; the Post won 11 during his tenure.
