Guest conductor Ken-David Masur leads a programme for György Kurtág's 100th birthday, built around his Scenes from a Novel for soprano, violin, bass and cimbalom, sung by Artistic Partners Tony Arnold and Kebra-Seyoun Charles. Around it come Collage-commissioned world premieres by Peter Child and Eun Young Lee (Minhwa), two of Charles's own songs, two Kurtág miniatures and a movement of Eric Nathan's Short Stories.

Triple Duo

Music director emeritus David Hoose conducts a season finale built around Elliott Carter's Triple Duo (1983), which splits a sextet into three pairs, alongside the “Fiddle Music” movement of Gunther Schuller's Duologue from the same year. The first half brings Juri Seo's “Jack in the Box” for violin and electronics, Augusta Read Thomas's Acrobats, Yu-Hui Chang's Intersect and Richard Cornell's The Light of October, a 1998 Collage commission.
