First Friday: History of the Massachusett Tribe with Thomas “Spirit Tree” Green
Thomas “Spirit Tree” Green, a descendant of the Neponset band of the Massachusett Tribe, who gathered at the praying town of Ponkapoag, talks about the history and cultural traditions of the Massachusett people. Green is a Tribal Council member and chairs the tribe’s History Preservation Committee; his cultural reclamation work includes building a fish weir, wetu (summer homes) and dugout mishoon (canoes).
