The Point: The Performance of Commemoration: Who Gets Remembered?
Part of ArtsEmerson's America 250 programming, this conversation asks who gets remembered in public life and who decides, looking at monuments, public art, civic ritual and the stories a city teaches. The speakers are Emerson political scientist Mneesha Gellman, who writes on memory politics and founded the Emerson Prison Initiative; street artist Cedric Douglas; and Joseph Zeal-Henry, Boston's Chief of Arts and Culture. A reception follows.
