Christmas in Olde/New England
Sat Dec 5 · 4pm, Church of the Covenant (Boston) / Sun Dec 6 · 4pm, First Unitarian Church (Worcester)
Musicians of the Old Post Road and the early-music choir Convivium Musicum pair two country-church traditions on both sides of the Atlantic: the fuguing tunes of early American singing, and the West Gallery style of rural English parishes, along with early arrangements of familiar seasonal tunes and instrumental works. As a close to the 250th anniversary of American independence, the programme includes music by some of the region's earliest composers.
