Beyond the Telescope: Voyager 1's Journey to One Light Day
Astrophysicists John Lewis and Pat Udomprasert trace the nearly 50-year journey of Voyager 1, which this November reaches one light-day from Earth: about 16 billion miles, so far that a signal at the speed of light takes a full day to arrive. Fulldome data visualizations follow the probe past the edge of the solar system. Admission is free, supported in part by the Lowell Institute, and a reception follows.
