A Peace-Loving Bull
Conductor emerita Gisèle Ben-Dor leads a family concert of music and storytelling. Revueltas's Sensemayá depicts an Afro-Caribbean ceremony in which a ritualist subdues a snake; the finale of Brahms's Double Concerto, written to repair his friendship with Joseph Joachim, features young soloists including cellist Sofia Hernandez-Williams; Jonathan Bailey Holland's El Jaleo follows John Singer Sargent's flamenco painting; and Carey Goldberg narrates Ferdinand the Bull to Bizet's Carmen suites.
