The Public Concerts of London
Recorder player Aldo Abreu joins Duo Maresienne, Carol Lewis on viola da gamba and Olav Chris Henriksen on theorbo and Baroque guitar, in music by Matteis, Finger, Paisible, Corelli and others. Matteis, Finger and Paisible were foreign-born musicians who made their careers in late-17th-century London, the city where paying public concerts first took hold, and Corelli's sonatas were widely played there.
