From Saint-Saëns to Britten: The Musical World of Verlaine
French tenor Morgan Manifacier and pianist Corinne Penner trace Paul Verlaine's poetry through its musical settings, on an international tour marking 130 years since his death: songs by Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Hahn, Poldowski, Tosti and Britten, ending with Fauré's La Bonne Chanson, Op. 61, on nine of Verlaine's poems. Both teach at Baylor University; Manifacier is a two-time American Prize winner in voice.
