Fall Concert: There's a First Time for Everything!

Metropolitan Wind Symphony · Scottish Rite Masonic Museum · 33 Marrett Road · Lexington · MA · Lexington

MetWinds' first concert under new Music Director Gabe Southard is built on firsts, most of them the first works John Mackey, Frank Ticheli, Dana Wilson and others wrote or arranged for band: Mackey's Strange Humors, Ticheli's Postcard, Wilson's Piece of Mind, Adam Gorb's Awayday and John Stevens's Benediction. Holst's First Suite in E♭, which helped establish the wind band as a serious ensemble, anchors the programme.
