Free America! Early Songs of Resistance and Rebellion (1790-1860)
Songs of the young American republic — marches, anthems, spirituals and ballads by New England citizen-composers, alongside what the Camerata calls liberty's attendants: feminists, abolitionists, freed slaves and religious minorities. The programme was first commissioned by the Paris Philharmonie in 2018 and has since been recorded for Harmonia Mundi.
