Florent Schmitt's Dionysiaques, which MetWinds calls “the only known example of French Impressionism written specifically for band,” opens a French programme that ends with Martin Ellerby's Paris Sketches. Between them come Debussy's The Engulfed Cathedral, Guy Woolfenden's Suite Française, Jan van der Roost's Suite Provençale and Mark Camphouse's Symphonic Prelude, a tribute to the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. Music director Gabe Southard conducts.
