MIT Concert Choir & MIT Symphony Orchestra: Carmina Burana
The MIT Concert Choir and MIT Symphony Orchestra perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, his 1937 scenic cantata on medieval poems he came across in an antiquary's shop in 1934. The songs, in Latin, German and Old French and dated to 1220–1250, turn on love, spring and drink. Adam Boyles conducts and Ryan Turner directs, with soloists Sarah Moyer (soprano), Srinivasan Raghuraman (tenor) and Sumner Thompson (baritone).
