Indigenous Knowledge and Climate Change
Isabella Zizi (Northern Cheyenne, Muskogee Creek), Crystal Cavalier-Keck (Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation), Leslie Jonas, Amira Madison and Hartman Deetz discuss how Indigenous knowledge and stewardship bear on cleaner air and a stable climate, including forests and wetlands that cool the air and cultural burning that reduces wildfire smoke. Madison, of the Aquinnah Wampanoag, and Deetz, of the Mashpee Wampanoag, run this new seasonal series with the museum.
