A panel on wildfire smoke, climate and public health: why fires and smoke are getting worse, who bears the greatest burden, and how forest stewardship, including prescribed fire, can reduce the risk. The panelists are Catherine Machalaba, a planetary health scientist at The Nature Conservancy; Patricia Fabian, professor of environmental health at Boston University; and Susan Prichard, a fire ecologist at the University of Washington.
