Romeo + Juliet Film in Concert (1996)
Baz Luhrmann’s William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet (1996), which moves the play to a modern Verona Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes as the lovers, screens in full for its 30th anniversary. A 12-piece hybrid ensemble plays the soundtrack and score live in sync with the film, framed by atmospheric lighting and a concert stage production. The soundtrack includes Des’ree’s “Kissing You.”
