Impromptus
Pianist Shai Wosner, called “a Schubertian of unfaltering authority and character” by Gramophone, builds his first half from impromptus by Schubert, Chopin, Dvořák and Gershwin, threaded with movements from Ives's Three Improvisations and a short improvised transition of his own. After intermission he plays Schubert's last piano sonata, the B-flat major, D. 960. Professor Suzannah Clark gives the pre-concert talk.
