Robert Lawson’s reworking of Moby Dick is, in its publisher’s words, “more a poetic fantasia than literal adaptation”: with songs, contemporary humour and a weaving of other myths, a crew of whalers sets off on an epic hunt before the obsessed Captain Ahab steers them onto an entirely different course. Jess Viator and Alex Gorowara direct.
