The Ringers' brass ensemble pairs Holst's St. Paul's Suite and Chris Hazell's Cat Suite with music from Latin America: Villa-Lobos's Choros No. 1, Máximo Diego Pujol's Plaza Italia, Manuel M. Ponce's Marchita el Alma and Luiz Bonfá's Passeio no Río. Jan Koetsier's Brass Symphony closes the afternoon at University Lutheran Church in Harvard Square.

The Ringers, a Boston brass ensemble founded and directed by horn player Jack Krugman to explore new music for brass, gives a brass quintet concert. Krugman trained at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he studied with Eli Epstein and later took a Performance Diploma, and has held principal and section horn positions with the New England Philharmonic and the Boston Civic Symphony.

The Ringers, a Boston brass ensemble founded and directed by horn player Jack Krugman, frame a world premiere by Gaston Gosselin with three works for brass: Michael Tilson Thomas's Street Song, a Brass Quintet by Victor Ewald, the Russian civil engineer and amateur cellist, and the Brass Quintet of the English composer William Lovelock. Krugman studied horn at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Contrapunctus V and IX from Bach's The Art of Fugue and the C major Prelude and Fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier sit beside Shostakovich's Prelude and Fugue in C, a Prelude and Fugue by Amy Beach, a Bach chorale and one of Grieg's 19 Norwegian Folk Songs.
