Musica Sacra opens Mary Beekman's final season as artistic director with Mozart's Requiem in the original Süssmayr edition, performed with full orchestra and soloists. Alongside it the chorus sings two settings of the Baroque composer Heinrich Schütz's Selig sind die Toten (“Blessed are the dead”). The concert is in person only, with no live stream, and is followed by a reception in Margaret Jewett Hall.

Holly Druckman is guest conductor for this concert by Musica Sacra, the Harvard Square choir that Mary Beekman has directed since 1979, in a season that ends with Beekman's farewell after 48 years. The choir sings repertoire spanning five centuries, both familiar and rare.

Mary Beekman's farewell concert closes her 48th and final season as artistic director of Musica Sacra, with choral favourites from her tenure. Beekman has conducted Musica Sacra since 1979; a graduate of Harvard and the New England Conservatory, she has also led the Harvard-Radcliffe Graduate Chorale and Chorus pro Musica, served as interim choirmaster of the Harvard University Choir, and directs the Belmont Open Sings.
