Photographers Neal Rantoul, Mercedes Jelinek, Frances Jakubek, Michael Hintlian, Henry Horenstein and Richard Renaldi discuss the photobook as a complete artwork, in which sequence, placement, scale and materiality carry the meaning, and why the printed book matters when most pictures live on drives and phones. Rantoul has self-published numerous photobooks; the panel accompanies the museum's fall exhibition Neal Rantoul: A Life in Photographs.

Danforth director Jessica Roscio talks with photographers Elizabeth Clark Libert and Suzanne Gainer about their exhibitions Boy Crazy and Every Woman and Nobody. Boy Crazy addresses violence, harassment, drugs, alcohol and sexual assault as its artist reflects on a past trauma; Every Woman and Nobody uses photographs and digital montages to address surviving experiences such as suicide and sexual assault. Both exhibitions include images of blood and nudity.

Neal Rantoul talks with Danforth director Jessica Roscio and assistant director Rachel Passannante about his more than 60 years in photography and his solo exhibition A Life in Photographs. Rantoul has self-published numerous photobooks, conceived as cohesive works in which sequence, placement, scale and materiality all carry meaning. The talk is free with museum admission and requires advance registration.
