Literary Titan wrote that "the writing has a raw, abrasive energy." Foy, also an award-winning filmmaker, was born in Defiance, Ohio, raised mainly in Pennsylvania and now lives in Massachusetts.

Quealy, born in Boston in 1953, is a 1975 Boston College graduate involved with its Ireland Business Council, and lives in Scituate.
