Two women are assigned the same room in an assisted-living facility and escalate from passive aggression to outright sabotage. David Lindsay-Abaire, who won the Pulitzer for Rabbit Hole, writes it as a war of attrition between people who cannot simply leave.

Shakespeare's last solo play, with Prospera rather than Prospero at its centre — the deposed ruler as mother, which shifts the weight of the forgiveness at the end. The magic, the shipwreck and Caliban's claim on the island are unchanged.

The ogre, the donkey and the princess, in David Lindsay-Abaire's book with a score by Jeanine Tesori. It gives the fairy-tale creatures a good deal more to sing than the film gave them to say. Tesori also wrote Fun Home and Caroline, or Change.
