History at Play: Rachel Revere Speaks with Judith Kalora as Rachel Revere

Judith Kalaora of History at Play portrays Rachel Revere on May 2, 1775, cut off from Paul by the Siege of Boston and planning how to get his six children and their newborn beyond the reach of the British army, with the audience weighing each plan. The 40-minute performance, commissioned by the Paul Revere Memorial Association, is followed by a Q&A and a half-hour history lesson.

Tara Lynn Masih discusses The Silent Women, a novel drawn from the Manhattan Project's Oak Ridge — the closed town where thousands worked without being told what they were building. Her protagonist, Song Holloway, is ordered to inform on the women around her. Masih has won the Julia Ward Howe Prize.
