Beyond Compère
Ampersand, a vocal consort devoted to the polyphony of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, sings an autumn a cappella programme of Franco-Flemish music that takes its title from Loyset Compère, the composer and singer who died in 1518. Founded in 2014 by friends from music school, the group gave four seasons in New York and Cleveland before regrouping in Vermont; soprano Madeline Apple Healey directs.
