Members of A Far Cry play a collection of fine violins in the workshop of master luthier and orchestra board member Chris Reuning, each instrument with its own voice — a chance to listen closely and rank them by value before the answers are revealed. Wine and hors d'oeuvres; a benefit for the orchestra, and expected to sell out.

Two works sprung from Luther's hymn 'A Mighty Fortress' — Bach's cantata Ein feste Burg, BWV 80, and Julius Eastman's Gay Guerrilla — with inti figgis-vizueta's Talamh opening the programme. A Far Cry is joined by the Boston Children's Chorus and four vocal soloists.

A Far Cry pairs Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos No. 3 in G major, BWV 1048, and No. 6 in B-flat major, BWV 1051, with Antoine Dauvergne’s Concert de Simphonies No. 4 in A major, Op. 4/2, and Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8, known as the “Christmas Concerto.” Jae Cosmos Lee curated the programme, and the concert includes a reception.
