The Prophecy (1995)
In Gregory Widen’s The Prophecy (1995), Christopher Walken plays the angel Gabriel, come to Earth to collect a soul that will end a stalemated war in Heaven. Investigating a murder, detective Thomas Dagget (Elias Koteas), a one-time seminarian, finds an ally in a schoolteacher (Virginia Madsen) whose pupil, a Native American girl, hides the soul. Viggo Mortensen plays Lucifer. It screens in the Coolidge’s Prints of Darkness season.
