The Met: La Fanciulla del West
Puccini's Gold Rush opera, which had its premiere at the Met in 1910, follows Minnie, who runs a saloon in a California mining camp and stakes the life of the bandit she loves on a poker game with the sheriff. This live HD transmission shows Richard Jones's new staging, with Vida Miknevičiūtė making her Met debut as Minnie opposite SeokJong Baek and Christopher Maltman; Keri-Lynn Wilson conducts.
