Victoria Johnson: Glorious Country
Victoria Johnson gives an illustrated lecture on Glorious Country, her new biography of the painter Frederic Church, for which she travelled in his footsteps to Egypt, the Andes, Petra, Jamaica and Jerusalem; she calls it a book “about how we see and what we save.” Johnson, a professor at Hunter College, wrote American Eden, a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award finalist. The talk marks Church’s bicentennial year.
