Zero Summer: Cambridge
Zero Summer moves through the waiting of Advent into the darkness of the winter solstice, the “zero summer” of T. S. Eliot’s Little Gidding, and the first light that follows. The hour-long programme threads contemporary works and traditional hymn arrangements with medieval chant, and includes two world premieres: Kareem Roustom’s arrangement of the Syriac Advent prayer A Glorious Light, and Elena Ruehr’s longest night. Beth Willer conducts.
