Historical Fiction & Historical Fantasy: An Evening with Kathleen Foster and Emily Franklin
Kathleen Foster and Emily Franklin, two writers with ties to Milton, discuss finding novels in the stories missing from the historical record. Foster’s debut The Jewel of Corlivo is a historical fantasy set in a world inspired by the early Byzantine empire; Franklin’s Love & Other Monsters tells the origin of Frankenstein through Claire Clairmont, Mary Shelley’s stepsister. Franklin also wrote The Lioness of Boston, about Isabella Stewart Gardner.
