All About Lily Chou-Chou (2001)
Iwai Shunji's All About Lily Chou-Chou (2001), adapted from a novel he developed on an online forum, follows middle-school students linked by anonymous message boards devoted to a fictional pop star, Lily Chou-Chou, as they face violence, abuse and isolation years before social media. Kobayashi Takeshi wrote the score. A 35mm print in the Harvard Undergraduate Cinematheque's Nostalgia series, preceded by Godfrey Reggio's short Evidence (1995).
