BC–MIT Number Theory Seminar: Ziyang Gao
The joint Boston College–MIT seminar has two talks. Ziyang Gao of UCLA presents “Towards uniformity in rational torsion and small points on abelian varieties,” a method inspired by Vojta's proof of the Mordell Conjecture. Daniel Litt of the University of Toronto follows with “The arithmetic of differential equations,” on Fuchs's 1875 question of when such equations have algebraic solutions.
