Gray, Jr. reads Spendin’ Time, a picture book for ages 4 to 8 in which a grandpa and his grandson have errands to run but no need to rush, with time for picking blackberries and waving at neighbors. Gray’s debut, I’m From, inspired by his childhood in Preston, Nova Scotia, Canada’s oldest Black community, received a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor.
