Silent Sky
Lauren Gunderson’s play tells the true story of Henrietta Leavitt, who joined the Harvard Observatory’s women “computers” in the early 1900s, barred from touching a telescope and charting stars for an astronomer with no time for their theories. As she measures the light and distance of stars, she weighs her science against family and the chance of love. Zoë Golub-Sass, a 2016 Brandeis graduate, directs; a talkback follows the Saturday matinee.
