St. Ignatius Concert Series · St. Ignatius Church · 28 Commonwealth Ave · Chestnut Hill · MA · Chestnut Hill

Gilbert and Sullivan's 1878 comic opera, set aboard a Royal Navy ship where the captain's daughter is in love with a common sailor and the First Lord of the Admiralty has never been to sea. It made the pair's reputation and provoked the copyright fight that sent them to New York. The St Ignatius series presents it.
