Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Philip Kaufman's 1978 remake of Don Siegel's 1956 film moves the pod people to late-1970s San Francisco, where two health-department colleagues, played by Brooke Adams and Donald Sutherland, notice the people around them turning into emotionless copies. Jeff Goldblum co-stars, and the film taps fears of conformity and of a government party to the terror. Shown on 35mm in Visions of a City, or A Weekend in San Francisco.
