Beyond Disability: A History of American Citizenship
Sari Altschuler discusses Before Disability: A History of American Citizenship, which traces how differences we now call disabilities were often accommodated in America’s first century and later became grounds for exclusion and lesser degrees of citizenship. She is a disability studies researcher, and is joined in conversation by Suzanne Koven, MD, MFA, writer-in-residence at Massachusetts General Hospital. A book signing follows; the event is also streamed on Zoom.
