More Than Entertainment: Art, Activism, and LGBTQI+ Human Rights with Uzo Aduba and Joe Locke
Uzo Aduba, who won Emmys playing Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in Orange Is the New Black, and Joe Locke, Charlie Spring in Netflix’s Heartstopper, join the activist and author Luis Adrián Ruiz Duarte and María José Cumplido, executive director of Chile’s Fundación Iguales, to ask whether artists can see themselves as activists and how storytelling and popular culture can advance LGBTQI+ human rights. Harvard lecturer Timothy Patrick McCarthy moderates.
