Whose Landscape: The Alps Between Nation and Planet (Off-Site)
A panel at Swissnex asks who owns the image of the Alps, a “Swiss myth” partly built by Turner, Ruskin and Byron and now claimed as a planetary system of glaciers. Geneva biologist Claire Galloni d'Istria, Harvard curator Joachim Homann and MIT landscape architect Anne Whiston Spirn speak, with Vox's Benji Jones moderating; Homann and Sarah Rosenthal then lead an exhibition tour of On Location: Drawing the Outdoors.
