Jeremy David Engels discusses On Mindful Democracy: A Declaration of Interdependence to Mend a Fractured World, which brings mindfulness to bear on inflammatory, partisan political discourse; Smithsonian called it "a practical guide to staying open and curious while engaging with all sorts of people and ideas." Engels is Liberal Arts Endowed Professor of Rhetoric at Penn State, a meditation teacher and the author of six books.
