Schumann frames the recital at both ends: the Eighth Novelette, Op. 21, to open and the Symphonic Études, Op. 13, to close, with Fauré's F-sharp major Ballade, Rzewski's "Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues" and Leon Kirchner's Interlude II in between. Gagliano, a pianist, makes her Vivo debut.
