Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Brian De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise (1974) follows songwriter Winslow Leach (William Finley), who seeks revenge on the producer Swan for stealing his music and his favourite singer to open a rock palace, the Paradise. Borrowing from The Phantom of the Opera and Faust, it has songs by Paul Williams, who plays Swan opposite Jessica Harper. It opens a Cult Cinema Tuesdays double bill with Repo Man.
