Canada Seminar: Why the American and Canadian White Working Class Votes Differently

· · · 1737 Cambridge St. · ·

Lewis Krashinsky, William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellow in the Weatherhead Canada Program, presents his book Across the Detroit River, on why white working-class voters in the American Midwest have moved toward the Republicans while those in neighbouring Ontario stay more loyal to centrist and left-wing parties. It draws on a qualitative study of two communities on either side of the river and original surveys and experiments. Dean Ray chairs.
