Lie Groups Seminar: Steven Karp (University of Notre Dame)
Steven Karp, a mathematician at the University of Notre Dame, speaks to MIT's Lie Groups Seminar, a research seminar in Lie theory and representation theory. Karp works in algebraic combinatorics, chiefly on total positivity: the totally nonnegative Grassmannian, positroids and sign variation, and the amplituhedron that physicists use to compute particle scattering amplitudes.
