The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's musical follows six awkward young spellers through a county spelling championship, as they spell their way through “a series of (potentially made-up) words” and let slip stories from their home lives. The show opened on Broadway in 2005 and won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Sheinkin's book; some audience members are drafted as spellers.
