The Blues Brothers
John Landis's The Blues Brothers (1980) spins John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd's Saturday Night Live sketch into a feature: Jake, just out of prison, and Elwood reunite their band on "a mission from God" to save the Catholic orphanage where they were raised from foreclosure. James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker perform. It screens on 35mm in the anti-Nazi repertory series it launched.
